Default Internal Memory Access Via Windows

Please Login to Remove!

My wife's SD card went bad so I wanted to put a little music in the internal memory of her new 9700 from ATT. I noticed that windows cannot access the internal memory. When I connect the 9700 to her Windows XP computer or my Vista computer, Explorer adds a drive icon with a drive letter. However, when I go to open it, Windows (Vista or XP) asks me to "insert a disk"

I had the Bold 9000, and I remember being able to access the internal memory via windows.

I have rebooted both computers. I did a hard reboot of the phone (pulled out the battery) I even reinstalled the OS.

Is it just as simple as the 9700's internal memory cannot be accessed via explorer?

P.S. When a SD card is in the 9700, I can access it just fine in Windows. However, the inaccessible drive icon that was there before is now gone.

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

The drive icon you cannot get to isa hub for the sd card. You can never access the internal memory to add things. The 9000 had a partition (so to speak) set asside that acted as a memory card. You never actually accessed the system memory

Therefore, if there were files saved in the internal memory, one would have to copy those files to a SD card or MMS/E-Mail them in order to have access to them on a PC?

I do understand what you are saying. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Thanks.

Is it passworded? If so you need to type in your pin to share both "drivers"

Also in your security section did you enable Mass Storage support?

Did you ever see the other share?
