I am about to set up a new BES box for a client, and I have a couple of questions:

1. The old server is running 4.0.?? and we want to move the database. Now I am assuming (since I haven't checked the old box in a while...) that it is running MSDE 2000, and the new version will run MSDE 2005. So, can I move the database from the old server to the new server, or will I have issues?

2. I am able to log into the Technical Solution Center to download the BES software, but I notice that I can only download version 4.1.4, dated June 20, 2007, and it doesn't include service packs. So will I have to download that version, then each successive service pack, or are the service packs actual full installs?

The server only has 11 users, so if moving the database is an issue, I don't mind doing a reactivation of the devices.

Any help would be appreciated....

1. Since it is currently MSDE, I would suggest reactivating the 11 devices. It would be faster than trying to move that database to SQL as well.

2. I bel the service packs are inclusive. So you just need to install the latest download BES and then the latest service pack.

Hope I understood you correctly, but thats how I read it.

4.1.4 BES includes sp4 so all you need is SP5 after that.
