Hi, I have a problem where no sound at all is coming from the handset earpiece even when its showing full volume. However if I switch to loudspeaker I can hear everything.
Has anyone else had this problem and does it look like an Hardware issue?

Pull the battery and see if it helps. sometime a clean boot helps. If this does not solve the problem and you did not add any Apps just before this started then it may be a hardware issue. Did it get wet? dropped?

No new apps, not dropped, did not get wet it just happened !!! wierd !!

The phones on o2 and is only about 8 months old so where do I stand warranty wise?

Sorry, just thought, I did add blackberry Bridge to connect it to Playbook, could it be that?

Unless it is defective hardware you might try deleting the app. If it does not help you can always put it back. dont forget to reboot the BB by a battery pull after deleting the app.

Many thanks for comong back, I've just done a restore to an earlier point before the BB bridge app was installed and it now works perfect !! So it does look like the app has something to do with it.
I'll remove the app and re-boot as you suggest and try again.

Hold everything, it's gone again !!

could be the head phone port is dirty, insert the head phones a dozen times and that can clear it up

It's gone back to O2 for repair now should have it back in a couple of days or so.
