Default Office Communicator for blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

2 part question:

1) So, I'm looking into getting Office Communicator on several users devices but am struggling finding much documentation on RIM or Microsoft's site. Does anyone have any installation guide or other information? All I've found are the pre-req's but no installation guide or troubleshooting (BlackBerry Search Results 0 87152194)

2) I've downloaded the communicator (BlackBerry - BlackBerry | BlackBerry Enterprise Instant Messaging) and installed it on my device but it seems the exact same as the blackberry messenger (at least it wrote over it and looks the same). Are these the same products? Will I need to install this on everyone's device or do they already have it installed with blackberry messenger?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can download the latest version of the Blackberry App here

https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...F84FC34F936A89

And deploy the application wirelessly using the instructions here.

BlackBerry Search Results 0 87290563

Word of warning though. I've been using wireless deployment for a few years, and haven't had any issues until we got a few devices loaded with the 4.3 OS. I've been working with TSupport for a few weeks and still haven't been able to deploy Office Communicator to those devices (8130 for example). All other devices take the software no problem.

Haven't been able to download anything from the BlackBerry site for a long time now, getting access denied. Can it be downloaded anywhere else?

Included in our 4.1 package was OC & OC-OTA.

Can you only wireless deploy the OC-OTA over the air as the name suggests? Have only added the OC version as the other doesnt have an alx file so its not picked up when creating a new configuration

Both client for LCS and MOCs are available in the 4.1 SP3
I wrote in article in french about MOCS client
BlackRabbit » Blog Archive » MOCS : Messagerie InstantannĂ©e dxxx8217;entreprise sur BlackBerry

Make a test on BES test, because if you make a mistake between LCS or MOCS install it is quite complicated to change it after...

RIM told me that a new client should come with SP5, but now that we know that some functionalities are delayed in SP6, i don't know if it will come along.

is there a oc.alx for the OTA version or can it be copied over from the wired based version?

Also can they be pushed quicker? 4hrs makes it hard to test

Default Enterprise Messenger for BlackBerry

Should Enterprise Messenger for the BlackBerry automatically update my status based on my Outlook Calendar? I have 1.1.17 installed on my 8830, and it does not update my Status based on what is in my Outlook calendar. Is there a setting or something that I might be missing to enable this feature?

BlackBerry Enterprise Messenger version 1.1.17

I've had similar encounters and solved that with the device.xml from Jibi. Maybe it helps.

Yes. OCS is the new version with enhanced features, some of which aren't compatible with BES (until SP6).

I also have this problem.

Even with it switched off on the BB it has affected the pc OC's behaviour in that it delays the status change by 10minutes.

Will uninstall off the BB to see if the pc version returns to normal.

I have this same issue. I can't see the OC software listed under the Device Software Configuration. I have indexed the folders and the pkg and xml file are there for OC. But I noticed that the download from Blackberry did not include the alx file. Is that why I can't see the application. I can see my other one that I did the exact same way following the blackberry KB article.

If I need the alx file for OTA setup where can I get it bc its not included in the OC2007 download zip from BB.

I think you guys downloaded the wrong one. When you go the download, there are two different ones. The one with the alx files that I got to work was oc2007_Desktop_2.1.15c

Hi,

Another dumb question coming up, more of a clarification actually..just wanted to be sure on the steps to get this thing working:

- While installing BES we choose the LCS, and towards the end of the install we connect it to the messaging server.
- We install the client ( on the device ) from the link given in this thread and thats it ? the client would connect to the messaging server through the BES and an icon would appear on the device ?

Dpenley' can you please send us the link for 'oc2007' as i think the link posted here is a bit old and contains the oc2005 only.

thanks,

There isn't a license cost for running OC on a BB, right?
