Default Stumped. Unable to view attachments

Please Login to Remove!

I've done searches but none of the solutions seem to help me.

I've noticed recently that allot of the devices with newer Handheld software can no longer view attachments like we were able to in the past. There's just no option for it any more. I've tested with Doc's, XLS's and BMP's. Nothing.

I have Blackberry Attachment Service 4.1 installed on the devices and everyhing APPEARS to be fine on the BES server.

Any suggestions on where else to look before I open up a case with RIM?

Have you had the users reboot their devices? I've had issues with attachments like that and reboots, many times, fix it.

I would run an attachment service test on the BES if you haven't already and see what that yields. Could also be service books related.

Would you mind treating my like the BESAdmin idiot that I am and explain that in a bit more detail? How do I run an attachment service test and how can I verify if it's service book related? I've completed wiped one of the problemed devices many times and started completely from scratch with the same outcome.

With the attachment service:
1. log on to the BES server with the BESAdmin account.
2. Go through the start menu to BlackBerry Server Configuration. In there you see the Attachment service as a tab.
3. In this tab is a drop down box where one of the options is the attachment service test (can't remember how it's worded exactly, but you'll know it when you see it). You'll have a 'Submit' option and an 'Output folder' option.
4. In the Submit option browse to a file which is a supported format (i.e a jpeg in the c: drive or something).
5. For the Output folder specify the desktop.
6. Run the test (a clickable button underneath) and you should see a txt file get dropped on the desktop if all is successful.

I had a client who had this problem once after installing SP1 for BES 4.1, running the service pack again over the top fixed the problem, just an FYI.

Default Attachments

This happened to me once. Support had me go into add/remove programs BES - click on advanced and do a repair of installed services related to the attachment service. This fixed it for me.

The Attachment Service test was successful.

I'll try Puddin's suggestion after market.

Thanks a ton for the suggestions. Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.
