Refresh your MyFaves from the TMobile website. That should fix the never-ending MyFaves refreshing icons.

Ok I'm having a bit of a serious problem here. I have seen this problem before on the site but at the moment can't find any of those specific ones and its a bit urgent.

I just downloaded and installed the new 4.5 OS for my roommate's pearl and after it was done, it just repeatedly loads up the phone and then shuts off. Does this over and over again. I never had this problem when I had my Pearl, nor have I had this problem with my Curve, so I'm not totally sure what to do about this. She is a bit upset with me and I would like to have this fixed pronto if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

well , looks like there IS multitap trouble in 4.5, since quick search(typing letters insteed of then numbers) doesn't work without multytap enabled

So i recently installed the new 4.5 os. and i've been getting fuzzy unclear sound when im talking to someone on the phone. I also tried to do the battery pull and removing sim card but it did not work. I noticed that this happens 5 out of 6 calls.

please help? should i downgrade back to 4.2.107 since it gave me no call problems there?

thank you in advance

Jake, see above about the Media Card issues. That will probably solve your issue. Hope that helps!

Annoying permissions prompts

So how do I get rid of these ? It's fairly irritating to have to select the "do not ask for http/https" any time I install a new application that needs internet access. Can I edit application permissions somewhere ? Thanks.

If the firewall is enabled it will ask that stuff for each application. Selecting "do not ask...." only means it won't ask the next time you use that application again.

XM has service for $8 USD a month for US residents.

For GPS, I have a Holux GPSlim 236 Bluetooth receiver.
It provides the GPS coordinates through bluetooth for my phone for BBMaps, Google Maps, GPSed, what ever uses it. (Shouldn't I get money for promoting these things. Just like when you wear branded clothing items)

Thanks. OK - I found the firewall, and how do I configure it to not prompt me any more ? I looked at the "Default" permissions, but they stay set to "custom" rather than "allow" even if I change it.

Also, when looking for the Firewall, I found an advanced option that was new to me:

Memory Cleaning - what does this do ?

Nevermind, I found out that it is for removing user data.

THANKS for the tips "John Clark" and "dlpisgreat" . my 8100 firmware is working like clockwork although i needed to upload every single media item using the desktop manager and i had to do an advance drop and reformat the music and photo files. i dont know if it mattered or not if i reformated to photo files using the media manager but all i know is that after i did that, it does not shut down and reboot anymore. something there helped. so once again thanks.

one more thing... has anyone else experienced that after the 4.5 upgrade, their headphone to hear music stopped working? i'm trying to hook up my headphones to hear the music, but all it lets me do is through the speaker. is that a known problem? any tips???

No dice, but a quick (and surprisingly easy) call to the dreaded TMO customer care fixed it - they pushed and it (and icons) updated almost immediately.

FYI if anyone else has this issue. Again, software is great - only 1 crash so far - I was using the browser.

You removed Voice Dialing according to my "Optimize your BB" post? I state in there that removing voice dialing will leave the About screen inoperative.

Use alt + e a c e to view the same info.

Default MSN & Yahoo IM

Just installed on 8100 Tmo, and working great! Anyone know if the instant messangers MSN or Yahoo use text messages to send, or just data?

The new ones included in OS 4.5 use data, not text.

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

The first post in this thread provides a link to older OS's.

Before you do please read this thread for tips about the new OS. There are some things you can do and some older apps you need to get rid of to make it work properly. Most folks, once identifying the source of a problem have OS 4.5.0.55 working just fine.

It is your call however.
