I wiped my Playbook today and finally when I got home and put it on my wireless network it decided to redownload and install OS v 1.0.1.1710 I wonder if the wipe resets the OS back to factory default?

Nowhere in that KB does it say it wipes the "FIRMWARE" in the playbook. Yes I can wipe removing the applications... Imagine if your phone did that, you just installed the latest firmware and for whatever reason you had to wipe your device, but you realize after you wiped it the device firmware (OS) is also reset back to it's original version the day you bought it!

It specifically says "Any configuration changes made to the BlackBerry tablet (Including Bluetooth pairing information, settings changes, etc.) will be reset to defaults after a security wipe is performed. "

That should not include "FIRMWARE", wiping your blackberry phone does the same thing as your Playbook but it doesn't blow away the firmware.

Again RIM is getting a bad rap on the playbook, this will only make it worse for them...

Reading comprehension seems to be lacking on the user's part.
