Default Timezone keeps changing on 8700

Please Login to Remove!

I've noticed that my timezone keeps resetting itself even though I have date/time source set to off in the options.

anyone come across this before? could it be operatig system related as I have the Bharti OS running on rogers HW.

Have you tried just leaving the Date/Time Source on?
Are you syncing with a PC/Notebook?
Is your Timezone correct on the PC/Notebook?
Is the Desktop Manager, if you are using it, set to update time?

Ditto... Set your time to your appropriate zone. Select "Blackberry" for your date/time source...

I am also having the same problem. I've updated to the latest software lately, and now every time I sync it changes my timezone to Eniwetok time zone, wherever that is. I have windows vista and the and time zone on computer is correct. I've tried changing settings but still changes time zone on 7250 blackberry.

I'm having the same issue... Windows Vista, T-Mobile 8700g running Cingular's latest 8700 OS and the Desktop Manager from RIM's site. My timezone is most definitely not set to Eniwetok (anyone know where that is, out of curiosity?) My time source is set to "Blackberry". When ever I run Desktop Manager with my Blackberry plugged in, the timezone is reset. It's almost as if Desktop Manager is mis-interpreting the timezone reported by Vista...

Your handheld has been "nuked"

(Eniwetok is an atoll in in the Pacfic once used as part of the Pacific Proving Grounds. It was the site of the first atmospheric hydrogen bomb test)

At least it's not on Ewok time..

But, since the DeathStar™ exploded and showered that moon with all manner of toxic waste, there aren't any Ewoks there anymore anyway who need a timezone to track......

We now return you to your normally scheduled thread....

Any update on this issue? I also have the same problem with Vista. It sets my BB time to Eniwetok whenever I sync with desktop manager.

Same issue here with an 8100. Pretty annoying. Time source is set to Blackberry as advised, still happens. Definitely seems Vista related.

Nevermind - I went into Sync Options in Desktop Manager and unchecked "update date and time on handheld" and that stopped the problem. Not a fix, but no worries now.

I tried that and it did NOT work. Still need to reset my time zone manually in my 7250 each time I connect to Desktop.

Review the Service Pack 1 for 4.2.1 on the download page for Desktop Manager 4.2. There looks to be ongoing timezone issues with Vista.... has SP1 been tried regardless? 4.2 SP1 Release Notes

I might have agreed with you a few weeks ago when I first did the upgrade, but the more I use it, the more I like it. My laptop actually runs better under Vista than it did under XP, and it ran great under XP. There are still some drivers I'm waiting on, but it will happen in due course.

Blackberry related. My 7250 is working fine, especially after I installed Desktop 4.2 and did away with the time zone bug.

Wink Getting date and time sync to work correctly

Had this same issue and couldn't figure it out. There are 2 places where desktop manager can be set to sync the time on the device. First location is on main screen when opening intellisync. Second location is accessed by clicking on the auto start button at the bottom of the main screen. In the dialg box for auto start the last option is for updating the devices date and time. Uncheck it.

I had the same problem with my Pearl in combination with the Desktop Manager and Windows Vista. I upgraded the Desktop Manager to 4.2.1.8 SP1 and the problem was solved.
