Will an Unlocked 8700g work on the Fido Service here in Canada?

As far as I know FIDO does not support BlackBerrys.

simple answer, no it won't.. Fido has no blackberry plans of any sort.. If you get the 8700g you will have to go with Rogers

Thanks for the reply, I know fido doesn't have blackberry plans, but if my blackberry 8700 is unlocked and I pop in my SIM can i make phone calls and text messages? I don't think internet and email will work, but I was told voice calling and text messaging will...can anybody clarify?

Now I understand why we were confused. We thought you wanted to use the BlackBerry AS A BLACKBERRY on Fido.

Yes, it will work fine as a phone on Fido.
