I see On sites like Tmobile.com that devices(sidekick3, pearl etc.) have "Real Web Browsing". What exactly does this mean, is it like surfing the web like it would be from a regular computer? I am planning to get a 8703e on verizon, does the 8703e have Real Web Browsing, or even the 7250? Is it even anything different? Just need a little clarification, thanks.

yes, real webrowsing is like browsing on a computer.. but it might be a little slower because it's loading a bunch of stuff.

The 8700 I have works well enough if you dont mind small and sometimes limited screens. It does have limitations. The Web host must be able to modify it's offering for WEP display

Another thought. Before you buy any device ask to see how it looks on line. I think you will not see much difference in any mobil display except screen quality and size

I have no idea why they call it real web browsing.

For me, it should display the whole page and you scroll it left and right and top and bottom. That's what I call real web browsing. But none of the phones can do that.

When you view it on the phone, all it is, they try to squeeze everything on the small screen to get the page fit in there.

Try some of the Blackberry and Sidekick in the store and you will see what I mean.

I always assumed it was not using wap sites that made it "real web browsing". wap sites are specifically formatted for phones and PDAs so there might be some features missing, others added to take into account the difference between browsers.

I think that what is meant by "real web browsing" is 1) unlike a lot of cell phone carriers that have web portals( t-zones, Media net,etc) that limit where you can go to sites that have paid the carrier to host their content, "real web browsing" means that a user can theoretically surf any site on the web as long as the phones browser can support things like CSS, Javascript and other webpage enhancements, 2) "real web browsing" means also being able to access sites that more or less look like they would if you were sitting at a computer. not just WAP sites that are mostly text and links. Smartphones like Blackberries, Treos, and the various WinMobile internet-enabled devices have browsers that can support XHTML, XML, and most of the technologies that run current websites. Regular cellphones mostly support WAP sites.

So there wouldn't be a difference between surfing the web on a sidekick 3 Versus a Blackberry(8703e)?
