depends. what are the source videos? i download copies of the daily show and colbert report all the time... and since they are divix encoded, i dont have to convert them... i just drag and drop onto my 8900.

check out SUPER as that has a shit load of configuration options. check around online for the best resolution and bitrate settings and then jsut set super to use those settings

Are you wanting to do just the one file? If so, you can do what somerandomguy suggested. Handbrake is another well used program. I don't remember what files it supports. If you want to do many to include movies, I use Mobiola Studio. Research its file support. It is a paid purchase, but is preset for the 8900 and video is amazing. I have six full movies on my media card and they are gorgeous. I convert them and then transfer to media card with Roxio.

I have used a program call Clone DVD Mobile by Slysoft. It is not expensive and does what is it supposed to do for me. They also have a copy gard removal program that enables you to make bakc-up copies of DVDs that you own. It is called AnyDVD and is also very reasonably priced.

Handbrake for Windows is good. I use StaxRip for all my conversion duties. Rip with AnyDVD from Slysoft, then feed that to StaxRip for conversion with x264 into an mp4 or mkv, depending on the target viewing device.
