Default Question about damaged phone and Rogers

Please Login to Remove!

Hello...I called rogers to have a replacement phone sent to me as my blackberry curve 8900 screen has turned all white and is fuzzy after dropping it. A few months ago I also got water on the screen...and I guess there was water damage and my keys stopped working. I put it in rice, and this fixed the problem. Looking at the 2 water damage indicators on the back of my phone, they both are white which I assume is a good sign?

If I send this phone back to rogers what are the chances they are going to charge me for physical/water damage...and what is the charge?

I don't know what Roger's policy is... AT&T says it's $450 US...

If the internal moisture sensor is tripped, you're probably going to get charged... and if the "dropped" damage is evident, you may also get charged... at this point all you can do is wait and see... good luck...

Well I haven't received the new one yet, nor sent the old one back so is there anything else I can do? Should I take it to a rogers kiosk?

If there is a red dot underneath the battery then they will be able to tell that it has been water damaged. If the dot underneath is still white, they may not be able tell. I think taking it to a kiosk may be best so they can take a look at it and if they can't tell that it is damaged, you can probably send it in for a warranty.
