Default Exchange Folders Spontaneously Not Syncing

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BB 9700, OS 5.0.0.415 on TMO activated on my corporate BES. Been working fine for years. For the past few weeks, at random times I would stop getting BES emails. When I would check my office desktop's DM settings, the folders selected for sync would all be unchecked. I would recheck the folders I want and it would work again for a few weeks and then the same thing occurs. Keeps happening. Help Desk is blaming my BB, but I can't see how my BB can change sync folders (I cannot select which folders to sync from my BB that I know of - is there a way to do that?). It is inconsistent which folders get unchecked - sometimes just inbox, sometimes inbox and all subfolders so I have to recheck the subfolders I want, and sometimes sent items).

Please let me know if you have heard of a similar problem or if you have any ideas for a fix.

Oh, and I have had the 9700 with this OS for a few months - the problem only started very recently.

Thanks!

PS - office desktop is running DM 4.2.2.14 (I know it's ancient, but the company is slow with updates if not necessary)

Don't know. Is there any way to check without asking a BES Admin?

PS - my local IT person just said "oh, why are you selecting folders? Just choose Inbox and Sent Items and the problem will go away." I explained why I select folders and she just shrugged.

If on BES 4.1

This issue has been corrected in BlackBerry Enterprise Server Maintenance Release 7. Apply 4.1.6 MR7 to the affected servers. Once MR7 has been applied the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will no longer process the MODIFY_FOLDER command in the OTAFM batch. BlackBerry smartphone users which have previously had their inbox redirection turned off due to this issue will need to have their inbox redirection re-enabled manually, on the BlackBerry smartphone, using the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager email settings or by the system administrator using the BlackBerry Manager for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

You can select the folders you want to sync from your BB.

Launch email, hit the Menu button, select Options, select Email Settings, hit the Menu button again, select Folder Redirection. You'll see an email folder tree you can select and de-select folders to your heart's content.

Thanks everyone - I was migrated to BES 5.0 this past week so hopefully the problem is gone for good.
