BlackBerry - BlackBerry Curve 8900 Coming to T-Mobile

There we have it! Too bad they're not listing the Feb 11th date we've all heard so much about, but it's better then nothing.

For me it's not a huge deal that it doesn't have 3G, just be nice to not carry around a bulky GPS puck on my keychain. And the other extras (memory, screen, etc) make up for the 3G absence.

I'll guess.... $199 with a 2 year contract. Purely a guess, I've heard nothing.

Newbie saying hi to all. I've been lurking the past couple months hoping the 8900 would come to the states (Palm Centro + Verizon = terribly disappointed).

Do Blackberry models tend to have exclusivity with a provider? I have my eye on the 8900 but not pleased about switching to T-Mobile (I'm in L.A.). I've read that I can give up my first born in lieu of an unlocked 8900, marry it w/ AT&T and be happy. But I'd prefer not going that route (too many things can go wrong).

So my question is, what are the odds the 8900 will be part of the AT&T line or like the Storm is to Verizon, so will the 8900 be to T-Mobile?

TIA

With all the talk and rumors of AT&T throttling back their EDGE service in favor of 3G, they can keep it. Sounds like EDGE phones on AT&T are going to be a problem very shortly. I'm very happy with my Bold. I thought it was going to be too big, but that wasn't the case.

You should be able to buy from tmob and put your ATT sim in it and send the service books no problem. Plenty of people are using the 8900 on ATT already, just like they're using the Bold on Tmobile. Not a big deal at all. What he said above about ATT's EDGE network may be a problem soon, but there's always room for one more if you love ATT. Tmob's EDGE network is good though. As fast as ATT's 3g for Blackberry phones many people say.

I'm thrilled to see this phone coming to T-Mobile. I don't get to upgrade until late May, but can't wait to finally get myself a smart phone. I had been planning on the 8320, but now that the 8900 is coming out, my choice is made.
