Battery dead?

For some time now, I would push the button to lock the phone or attempt to push to unlock the phone and it would then sometimes shut off, red light, reload and then the battery is drained entirely.

Starting today, I get the little hour glass, it spins, then shuts off, red light comes on. Red light turns off, hour glass returns, spins and then shuts off. Repeat continuously.

Has this happened to anyone before? What are some things I can attempt to try?

Edit: It charged under a co-workers cord but then did it again not long after. Can't even get it going on my own cord.

It is probably a damaged battery. If you let it run down past 20%more than a few times or left it with the battery in the device for a month or more, then it is most likely a bad battery.

Try a new OEM one, not a cheap knock off.
