I played with a live one last week at the "Bold" exhibition in Hong Kong.

It feels like a brick in my hand compared to my Pearl and the screen is only half as big as the iPhone (Which I also have).

What I didn't like most was the single Blackberry Menu / Back rocker-key on the sides of the track ball. It looks cheap and tatty compared with the two individual keys on the Pearl. The screen controls are also much less intuitive than the iPhone.

Of course the email is still the best.. thats why I am hanging on to my Pearl.

Still I expect I will get one... just for fun. They are out here next week on all the carriers according to the guys at the exhibition.

Just expressing my two cents. The BlackBerry is starting to take the path of the Sidekick as far as a new device every week, that being said, do you think that (with the release of the Bold, and also the rumored "Javelin" and "Thunder" kicking off the new devices and what not) BlackBerry is going to put out more new devices than they should. I mean personally I think the series' that are out now are awesome, and I know people demand more but, like I was saying about Sidekick, people were asking so much of different devices. If they're releasing the BlackBerry's like "Javelin," one to each service provider, that would be cool. However, if each of the what, 5 new devices I've heard about comes out for each service provider, then I'm gonna feel obligated to buying like 3 of them! Even though I'm getting off track with expressing my opinion, I was hoping to get a opinion and hopefully a discussion on my first question. (Sorry if this isn't 100% BB Bold related.)

Default Size difference in Bold and Curve

Could you tell us if the width is same as curve as well as the thickness?

Thanks

This may be a stupid question but i never owned a BB before.
What kind of case(if any) comes with the bold.
I'm surprised there has been no unboxing pictures or videos.

Does the BOLD display HTML emails properly?

I love the way my iPhone presents HTML formatted emails, & cringe every time I have to scroll through masses of code on my Pearl to get the gist of what some emails are about.

What is shipped with the device, depends on what the carrier wants to have in the box. T-Mobile Germany ships the device - as far as I know - with the following parts:
device
battery
fake leather holster WITHOUT clip
stereo headset
travel charger
USB cable

Still got question about the GPS.

Can I download whole Europe map to memory card (1GB) within reasonable time interval and use it for navigation with Bold's GPS?

Having GPS location with deactivated cell phone module is only
half way to the free gps navigation without cell phone data plan.

We need map data available on demand, even without data plan.

freedom is so difficult to find in cell phone world.

You can use as well the leather holster with clip from the BlackBerry 8800. I use that for my bold and it fits perfect!

I noticed that reviews are saying that the Bold has vastly improved call quality over prior berries - Is that true? BGR compares it to the iPhone 3G which I found to have phenomenal call clarity and improved reception over iPhone 1 so if it is comparable to that, then that would be excellent.

Another question for anyone who has tried iPhone/iPod and the bold as media player - Is the quality of the Bold's music player better than that of the Curve? and how does it compare to the iPhone or an iPod? ie the sound quality rather than the interface itself - I appreciate Apple has cornered the market at the moment in pure eye candy and simplicity but it's the actual sonic capability that I am curious about (I actually quite like the way the Curve mp3 player functions in terms of buttons, search and UI).

Default World Clock

Is there a World Clock application like on the iPhone? I work with people in 5 different countries, so tis feature, though not critical, is important to me.
