Smile T-Mobile released 8900 for Business Customers

Please Login to Remove!

FYI, I called first thing this morning based on BGR's report regarding the pre-release of the 8900 for Corporate customers. Essentally, if you have a business account, you can call them and you can get it for $199.00 on a 2 year contract for an upgrade. If you do not, you will have to wait till February.

I just ordered 3 this morning. I had it expedited for an extra $19.99.

I've heard that you can only get it now if the business account was paid for by the enterprise. Is it right? How about business affiliated account?

I tried calling the business sales line for our premier ordering (affiliated accounts) ... they were not able to order it. In their system it still says 'coming soon'

What # did you call to order it? PM me if you can.

just an FYI, if you guys are out of contract and can wait til the official release date, do it so you can leverage yourself and exploit their customer retention team to get additional discounts.

i talked to a CSR today and he said they would offer a bigger discount for loyal customers on release day... I had him note that in my account...

I agree with chbak014, the buttons are big but I find them a little clumsy. Although the haptic technology is great and the screen is amazing, I decided not to pursue it because it was sluggish and nothing can replace the real keyboard.

I did play with the device for a day and I quickly learned that touch screeens are not for me.

I ordered mine today through my local business rep. She told me that they won't be available for shipping until the 26th? What did they tell you? Shipping today?

They said 2 to 3 business days via express shipping ($19.95).

I just called with my order numbers and they said that they WILL be shipping it out today. I will check my tracking number later today and confirm.

I wonder if they ran out?

Thanks for the info, rifleman! I can wait, I am using the Bold right now, but it is pretty big and I wanted to try the difference of the Bold and the 8900. And I don't have 3G anyway, and miss UMA, so I think the 8900 will be better for me.

That is what they told me as well. I called 611 from my phone and they told me that only my local T-Mobile business rep can get me the phone and I emailed her and she said she would order it today and it would ship next Monday. Maybe they only had 3 available today and rifleman got all 3!

I talked with the CSR today, and she told me that the price was $299, but it also included a $100 mail in rebate to bring the price to $199. I told her that was not much of an incentive to keep me with TMO but she didn't budge. She offered to let me pay the $299 over 4 months, which I could care less about. She then told me I could go to the local stores and pick up the device myself, and gave me the phone numbers of the stores to call. All 3 stores told me that they have not received any 8900's yet.

I plan on calling back tomorrow and hoping for a better CSR. I will definitely push to talk to someone in the retention dept.

I wonder if I can one with my military rate. I know when I use to have Verizon, it fell under their Business section.

My 8700G is starting to fail me. It goes dead randomly at times now and the battery life is noticeably worse. I've been holding off for so long waiting for TMO to get something new and I didn't want to waste a new 2yr on the original Curve.

You can have tmobile put a instant rebate on the phone instead of having to do the rebate junk. Ive done this twice for people. Just tell them they will have your service if you didn't have to do the mail in rebate usually they take the $100 off. I think this is done in retention dept.
