You have to sign, I went to the UPS warehouse last night and picked mine up.

did you try the ol' "whats the porting process?" trick? That got me two for $199 each on the 11th. Worth a shot

Yep, tried talking to customer loyalty and threatening to leave for a Storm or Bold. Says they can't order it even though I told him I know they can. It's frustrating.

I guess T-Mobile's "customer loyalty dept" is getting a flurry of calls. Everyone wants to get the new phone by taking advantage of the port out process. I got my 8900 yesterday.. cannot wait to go home and start playing with it.

Although there is not a huge jump from my old 8320 but it is a welcome change with a sleeker and lighter phone.

Do whatever you want, do not be rude to them.. if they are not able to order.. it means they really do not have it. Patiently say "Thanks" and call again after sometime.

In case, a customer is impatient/rude, they make a note of it. This is just friendly advice.

Sound like they're running out of stock to ship now. That makes sense because they're gearing up to the Feb. 11 launch. And I'm sure they don't want a repeat of the disaster Storm launch nor the almost as bad iPhone launch where people were standing in freaking lines at 6am then getting sent home as if they were waiting for Superbowl tickets or something. This will be a much more orderly and better-handled launch. You know my philosophy when it comes to phones: don't ever go into a store.

The thing I don't like is that they changed the USB port on the device. At least there is an adapter for it but I have so many home chargers, car chargers, and sync cables that will require an adapter.

Just ordered it over the phone (Upgrade -> blackberry). First time the rep didn't even check before saying it's not available until the 11th, but the second time I called the rep didn't blink; she said even employees can't order it until the 11th, but ordered it for me. $349 with one-year renewal (out of contract right now) plus the $100 rebate.

I'm about 5 months out of contract and have been with T-mo for 5 years. After the Feb 11 release date, do you think I will have a good chance of getting the new Curve at the two year upgrade with the rebate already included for just a one year extension?

I doubt it, because their best deal will always be with a 2 year extension. That money (about $1800) goes a long way toward paying the difference between the cost of the phone ($500 for a Bold or iPhone) and what you pay for it. The fact that you've been with them for 5 years may not really do much for you because you may have already received phone discounts in the past.

I've only received one phone discount with them in the past. The 5 years I've been with them, I've only got an upgraded discount with them once. All other times I've gotten my phone off ebay. So I don't upgrade much through them. When the Feb 11 release date hits, I will have a little bit more bargaining power, and see if I can get the deal I want.

Ok, so I called @ 245pm today and "Amber" told me that it isn't available until Feb 11th... Damnit!
I told her that I was experiencing the "Hour-glass of death" and she said to call back from a different handset and speak to tech support...

If you don't succeed, try, try again....

@ 255pm, spoke to "Shayla" and she didn't miss a beat... Phone arrives by Wednesday which, according to previous orders, means Tuesday!!!! 15 months into my contract= $429 plus tax plus shipping...... $485.69
