Default Is 4.6.1.133 official for Tmobile?

Please Login to Remove!

I know it's released for some carrier already, not beta, but I read that now Tmob made it their official new OS for the 8900. Can anyone verify that?

T-Mobile website does not say so..

For the latest handheld software available for T-Mobile you can go to Unsupported Browser.. or for just 8900 here is the direct link DeviceDownloads

Yeah, I see that. Someone said they got a message from Tmob that .133 was available as an update for it, I wondered if anyone else had. No biggie.

I feel like it takes Tmobile a lot longer than some other carriers to get new software out officially. I could be wrong...

Question from a newb....

What is the difference upgrading before or after T-Mobile puts it on their website?

I ask because I am not very experienced in the upgrade process (although, I think I did it successfully with my Pearl) and was wondering....if they approve the software, are you somehow protected if the process goes wrong? (Brick the phone)

TIA

Talked to T-Mobile and they said it Does NOT void the warranty, but you would have to consult Blackberry if you have OS issues.

Not that RIM is likely to help the consumer. But you have a much better resource availbable: Blackberryforums.com.

An OS upgrade, by any carrier, is good for anyone (so long as you delete the "vendor.xml"). So really, you needn't wait for T-mo to post an upgrade.

I agree. For instance my 8100 OS is Tmobile's most current listing. No HTML, no camera video like other updates. Most people don't frequent BBforums etc, so they'll never know about new OS offerings elsewhere. My 8900 is out for delivery now, too bad my office is closed today because of a snowstorm.
