Default at&t vvm vs youmail or phonefusion

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone make the switch to at&t's vvm from either youmail or phonefusion? I am wondering what the similarities or differences are. Thanks!

I like it. Vm downloads in seconds. Gives the name and time. The ability to save or email/mms it makes it awsome for me. Vvm is better. I used phone fusion and this is better. Email alerts also. Setup is easy go for it

does it send you emails with the voicemail attached? I really like that feature, worked well when I was traveling internationally...

nope. Uses the data network. If you're international and have the data off you won't get voicemails. I like it way better than the third party applications, BTW.

AT&T VVM does not send SMS or Emails to your phone (or inbox). It also does not have the Customized Greetings per user like YouMail has.

What it does do is integrates with the OS via inbox integration, contacts integration, VM Waiting PopUp, MWI. The integration with the OS Contacts list also indirectly has Facebook integration if you have your contacts connected.

One other small win: I no longer have to have that awful looking YouMail icon on my homescreen!

I get an email in my inbox that shows the calling party's name, time of call, call length and phone number type (home, work, mobile, etc)... for each VVM that I get - in fact, the message in my inbox is identical to the entry in the VVM list.

That is not an an actual email. The feature that I was referring to attaches the VM audio file to an email, which is then sent to an address of your choosing. This lets the user receive the VM/email on their desktop, BlackBerry, etc.

My question is how can I get rid of the entry in my messages folder when I get a VVM? Seems to be redundant and is definitely a pita...

No way to turn it "off" but you can delete them.

Enable/Disable of the Messages integration, and the ability set the default playback source (i.e. Handset, Headset, Speaker, etc.) are things I would like to see added in a future release.

It's not redundant. What you are seeing is the VVM message. This is the exact same way BBM works by showing your conversations in the Messages application.

ifonline - Correct, but BBM gives the option to disable the Chats showing in the Messages App.

When I delete the message, the VVM entry also gets deleted... in that sense it works like an email in the messages folder (delete it and it is also deleted from the email account-specific inbox)... so it would appear that there are two references to the same VVM message.

Bummed... close but not see-gar.
