RAMBLE IM (aim)

Hi... I am having trouble logging in... I receive this message when attempting.
"Invalid copnnection string: could not open tunnel - failed"

Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

Default Possible Fix for Ramble Issues

I had the same problem, and found the following information from the Ramble site:
What does 'Invalid Connection String: could not open tunnel- failed' mean?

When you try to login to Ramble and receive this error, or a similar error, it is likely that your device needs to be configured to properly run Ramble.

If you are a corporate user, you should check with your system administrator to ensure that MDS is enabled for your device. If you are a carrier user, you will need to configure TCP and set Ramble IM Options.

If you're not sure if you're a corporate user or a carrier user, your email address can help you figure it out. Let's say your company is named Foo. If your BlackBerry email address is yourname[at]foo(dot)com, you're probably a corporate user. If your BlackBerry carrier is MyCarrier, and your email address is something like yourname[at]blackberry(dot)mycarrier(dot)com, you're probably a carrier user.

Take a look at the configurations page for information on how to configure your TCP settings for use with Ramble.
The configuration page is located at (delete spaces):
http :// wireless . sra . com /ramble /configurations.html

Regards,
James

James Thank you for your assistance. I am using CellularOne. My settings are not on that list and I am using the new 8700c. I use AIM all the time and would love to use this on my blackberry... Any further assistance would be cool.
Thanks!

You can use the google talk to talk with them as well as using a third party instant messaging, such as Verichat, IM+, etc.

Yes MSN works on it. Verichat charges a yearly fee. I'm not sure about IM+

Verichat gives you free 15 day trial.

Here's the link for verichat.

You can check your BB OS by going to options and then about and it'll tell you the OS.

IM+ is a one time charge and appears very nice. I have been testing it for a day now and considering purchasing it.

I've had my 8700 since it came out several months ago and have used Ramble, Verichat, and Yak-On. I recently decided to give Google Talk a try and honestly, I like GT the most. Not only is it free, but it stays logged on all the time(something Ramble didn't do), and has a nice interface. I know that there could be issues with transports later, but so far so good!

Default Would like to use MSN with Blackberry 7250

I am a newbie thinking of buying the 7250 but I need to be able to use MSN

I see that a software named IM or QuickIM may work with MSN

Has anyone tried this with the 7250.

This info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Default IM+ License for cheap

Hi guys,

I've been using Google Talk for a while and decided to purchase IM+ last night, since it seems to be one of the forum users' favorite IM application, but I don't like it.

If anyone is interested in buying my license, I would sell it for cheap. I deregistered my BB and the license can thus be installed on another Blackberry without any problems.

Just email me at: blackberry @ cocooningweb . com

Default VeriChat vs IM +

Which of these two would you recommend more to use with the 7250 ?

Thanks a lot.

How does this compare to other clients ? I just dont want to start downloading all of them so was hoping that someone can point me towards a better one. I just need MSN and am hoping will only need to pay one off fee.

Thanks
IMHO Verichat is the best I have tried, click and you know what you are connected to-add etc. It does not offer Skype nor Jabber but has the nicest interface and easiest to use.

Webmessenger is a close 2nd as long as you want Skype or Jabber it is the one. Does not always reconnect like I would think it would, have had to restart to connect on occasion.
