Default System Software and Core Applications Update

Please Login to Remove!

I've done a search and none of the threads I've found answer this question.

I am running OS .75. Today when I plugged in my Storm to sync, I got a message that says "Updated versions of the applications listed below are available for your device." It lists Blackberry 4.7 System Software and Blackberry 4.7 Core Applications.

As far as I know, .75 is the latest OS for Verizon. I checked for an OTA upgrade and it says I have the latest. This is the third or fourth time I have received this message (although it doesn't happen every time).

Why is it doing this? Should I upgrade or am I just wasting my time? If it is a waste of time, how do I make it stop?

same thing happens to me. someone will respond and tell you that its because you have the VZW upgrade installed, but the automatic update is checking the RIM version... which really makes no sense.

but either way, i disabled auto updating and i still get that problem.

I got the same/similar message and attempted to download and install the upgrade. After the install ran for some time, I received an error message indicating that there was not enough storage space on my Storm to install the upgrade.

WTF?

Actually, I have the leaked .75 installed, not the VZW upgrade. I installed it before VZW released their upgrade.

Nevertheless, it doesn't do it every time. I see this message (it only says 4.7) and get all excited thinking that maybe there is some kind of upgrade available, and then waste 30+ minutes while it re-loads the same OS.

Can any of the mods give us some insight on this? I've seen about 5 threads on this, but they just end with nobody answering the question or offering a solution.

I had the same thing happen to me when I first tried to download my upgrade OTA, i had to go to browser cache options and clear the cookies and reboot my storm, then it seemed to work.
