Now using my old bb curve since it had been sooo long since I used it I Updatee it thinking I can use text in conversation form and also use smiley faces but the faces didnt work :( what can I do to load faces

Have you tried to update BBM? smiley's should be available on Version 5

In text form? You would need OS5 for the smiley faces. Is your Curve still on 4.x?
