Default Disabling Bedside Swipe

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys, new to blackberry forums, but old to blackberrys.

I have a problem. It seems swiping down from a locked screen on a classic brings up a bedside mode. It's a problem because if you touch the alarm switch in this state it turns off, and I need that alarm to wake up for work. Since I pocket my phone, this happens more than I'd like. Is there a way to disable this feature?

Thanks

use a pouch or holster with a sleeper magnet to have this not happen in pocket

you can turn off swipe to turn on but IMO its a great feature

A bit confused. The design is for the phone to be not in your pocket when sleeping.
looking at various options all I see is a selection at the bottom to shut off the mode or turn t on. You would need to swipe the on /off button to do this. testing a couple of OS10 devices I could not turn off the alarm unless I hit the off button. no other place on the screen does this.

Maybe more details will help get you a clear reason.

Sure, sometimes, biking or pulling out of pocket, or just placing it down or similar, the lock screen is on (possibly a button touch to make it come on) and somehow inadvertently it swipes making the bedside mode come on. Since I don't know it's on, any further handling of the device will touch the one active button, the alarm button, switching it off. I never use bedside mode, so even a way to fully deactivate that would be amazing.

I don't want to sound crass or ignorant, but I would never do a pouch or holster for a phone, that's just me.

I found no way to disable bedside mode in O10. It apparently was able to be disabled in previous OS's
It seems Blackberry expected people to never touch the screen in the way your doing it.

the only thing you can do is check the On / Off selection to insure it is not disabling the alarm if your using it to wake up
