ya I started out with the .151 I think it is and upgraded to the official .180, then .195 (both were slow and had minor issues) then finally got to where I'm at now, which is .222 and seems noticeably faster and barley ever gets an issue so I'm gonna stay with this for a while.

Thanks for those who have replied... I already download the .230 and its up and running....

Only minor thing I found that bugs me its that I created a folder with some apps inside.... the folder its ok but the icon for it has gone...
When I create another folder or edit existant ones, I does not let me change the folder icons....

Anyone else with this prob?

I have stuck with the .180 that came with my phone so far, mainly due to the very mixed reviews that I have seen here on BBF for the other builds. I have a little bit of lag when accessing some functions, but other than that is seems pretty stable. Any feedback on .404 as well?( wasn't included in the poll).

I did not include any further versions cause I didnt see them in this page...but people should feel free to express their opinions about any version.
My list show the Application number... package version .404 its the Application version: .236

Anyway, the .230 I installed, has worked pretty well but there are few things that annoy me that the .180 didnt have.

.230 bugs: - The list of music shown (when ask to "show list" instead of "show info") is not accurate when on Shuffle mode.... it shows the songs in order "1,2,3" of playing and not the names of the ones that are actually playing.
- Also I think it has a bad algorithm for shuffling songs, the other day many of them repeated even though the list was small and not all had played.... I had to stop and then play again for it to work as it supposed to.
- I lost the ability to create different types of folders. I can create it, but I cant change the folder icon.... It used to have a lot of options, now I only have 1. This bothers me almost enough to go back to .180....

The good: it does feel a little bit speedier, specially when skipping songs (.180 was very slow on Shuffle All mode). Also feels faster when accesing the photo thumbnails...

Anyway if I find any other bug I will return to .180 or another version thats better... Please anyone confirm if the bugs I wrote are present in .222 or newer....

THANKS EVERYONE

I am running the offical OS. I used the BETA versions of OS's on other devices but decided to stick with "official" on this BB since it will be my last purchase of a smartphone for a while. Decided to "not mess it up" lol

I moved from stock .180 to .222 and found that it is good enough to hang out for a while - stable and slightly faster. I have not found any real bug at this point.

I finally downgraded to .222 and it has the advantages that .230 offered but also has its bugs... anyway I feel more comfortable at this point.... (But .180 is better)

I finally downgraded to .180 as some of you might seen in a newer thread were my phone almost died of an error during instalation process...

anyway .180 is noticeable slower than new versions but for Music player is the best.... It shows the play list as it should and have a better shuffle algorithm...

why wouldnt they keep this great features intact when updating? I really dont know but it seems there is always something to screw up...

NOTE: im still missing the editing fuction for new folders in my bb desktop... I can create a folder I just cant change their icons and this is annoying if you want to differentiate them...

Wirelessly posted

.278 all the way! Best ever! Great speed, no bugs, and great battery life.

IrocD can you please check if this upgrade work as .180 regarding music playback...:

- Having the Auto-Playlist working
- Being accurate when Showing "List Panel" (instead of album art) when on shuffle mode...

This is important to me because the Flip is my main mp3 player and the .180 version is the best for music playback (though its slow) and newer upgrades gave me errors I already mentioned....

To be more specific, the second error is that when on shuffle mode the phone actually shows the name of the track in the list as it was playing in order, instead of showing the actual name of the song....

example:

1. Love song
2. TNT
3. Whatever

If I play shuffle mode, the first song could be TNT but in the List shown as "Show Play List" it marks "Love Song" for being the number 1 on the list....

FINALLY got the .278 upgrade everyone... and it works GREAT!!! BEST SO FAR... cause they fixed the playback problems i had... the made it even better letting you see the list of upcoming songs if shuffle enable...
also the phone is snappier as >.222 upgrades....

The only bad thing is that somehow I lost my calendar appointments and birthday in the process... but maybe a backup restore will fix that...

4.6.1.1.182 on the 8230; seems to be a slightly faster & more responsive version of the stable 4.6.1.180.

I upgraded to the .278 version yesterday from .180. For a while the OS felt "choppier", but today it has been incredibly smooth and seems to be a nice stable release.
