My shipping confirmation email with tracking numbers came (Best Buy) this afternoon. As of this moment, the tracking numbers aren't in the UPS system, yet.

I figured either the PlayBooks would arrive on day of release, or ship on day of release. So I'm not disappointed. Just as anxious as a 5-year old on Christmas Eve.

pre ordered from BB......went to store....said 64g maybe 1 to 2 weeks......what was the point?

I figured if I pre-ordered from Staples and had them deliver it to their store for pick-up, that they'd get on the pallet with the rest of the launch-day store stock. I was surprised to see it had left the Dallas distribution center at 12:01 am on the 19th. Looking to get it on Thursday after work.

Was there not a lot of stores in the US carrying the Playbook that people "had" to pre-order them?

Every FutureShop, BestBuy, Staples, and TheSource (Circut City) had tons of them instock yesterday that I knew the likelyhood of them running out was slim to none and I was right!

Somebody on one of the Playbook threads asked what is the advantage of pre-ordering, I guess that is one.

I don't know about our local stores. I don't shop; I point and click.

I pointed and clicked and when I went to pick it up (BEST BUY) they didn't have it. It was in their inventory, but they were "sold out".

After a significant fuss (choose your own word there), they found 16s and 64s in the back. But not the 32 I wanted.

I guess I lead a good life, excellent Karma..... I knew I was going to be traveling, and then it turned out my wife couldn't be home to sign for it, either. I was afraid it would show up on the 19th and no one home. But as it turns out, the delivery later means someone will be there when UPS delivers. Call it good luck.

We pre-ordered our Playbooks through Staples to make sure we got units on the 19th, which we did, but...just fyi...

We drove to the store where we had them delivered on the morning of the 19th, and they said they "weren't in yet". They did have plenty in-stock for physical store purchasers, however. They wouldn't give us the units from stock, we had to wait for our online orders to arrive. So we did end up getting product by the end of the day on the 19th, but would have got them faster if we didn't pre-order and just showed up at the store.

Go figure. Ah well, gives me a nice ecommerce story to tell in my marketing classes .
