Default All I want for Christmas is a Cingular Rep that knows diddly :)

Please Login to Remove!

I have been a happy Cingular (ATT) customer for about 2 years now and BB user since June of this year. I got my BB for 4 things, email, IM, browsing and tethering a PC.

I couldn't complain about the Customer Service in the past, because everything was plug and play.

When I first got my 7290 in June, it worked without problems, I never was able to get IM+ working, but really wasn't needed it so I gave up trying. Browsing wasn't really feasible, but I did

I Nov. I was able to get Yak-On to work for me on the 7290 and after I got my 8700, browsing was functional, so tethering was the only piece of the pie left.

I was in no hurry, so I sent Cingular an email copying the instructions from this forum. My reply, was "You don't need that, you need Text Messaging". then I called and had a Rep, undo what was done to my account, but again was told, "I see the problem" let me fix "X". Then I was transfered to the "Data Team".

I had a very nice chat with a techy type of guy who was searching this forum as we talked and reading the instructions right out of Mark's post, but still was too smart to follow the basic instructions, he added something else which still didn't work.

By the afternoon, I noticed Yak-On and HelloWorld no longer worked. I called again and got a Rep who looked at my account and said, "this is all wrong, let's start over", he deleted my plan and reinstalled everything, had me take my battery out a few times. he claimed to have added the WIX lines I needed in my plan to get everything working. I was back to square one, but my software all worked.

This morning, I noticed I didn't get any email overnight. Upon further review, I noticed that the browsers didn't work, but HelloWorld and Yak-On were still working. I called again and then service rep asked about my "edge", which I didn't realize was showing a strong signal but was a little edge instead of EDGE. She claimed I was missing something else, and had me remove my battery and sent me new service books.

I am back to square one again, doubt that tethering is working, as I can't see the WIX lines.

To be fair to the Reps, I don't understand why Cingular makes it so hard. I have BB unlimited, why shouldn't everything work with having anything else. It should be plug and play, end of story and everyone would be happy.

I bought my BB 8700 from them and asked them to put the plan together (Data only) they wasted 3 days and still the data plan did not work properly because 3 out of 5 of my emails accounts were not working. I called them twice a days and everytime I got a data plan specialist and from his conversation it looks like his last job was a wal-mart greeter.
I kept on telling them that my accounts are not working and they keep on repeating the same old thing "Go to the website and register your accounts'
Once time the guy even asked me if the Blackberry and RIm are two different companies?
And then I was so frustrated and asked if there anyway that you will be able to make my Yhaoo IM working and that girl said go to our website and register your email there.
I SAID HELLLLO.. IT IS YAHOO MESSENGER .. A CHAT PROGRAM AND NOT A EMAIL.
She said let me take a took and then she asked the same thing to reboot the BB and still same thing. Asked her to transfer me to accounts and I cancelled the service.
Got the BB unlocked thru Ebay and went to T-mobile. The total phone call was 6 minutes . All accounts were fine. Chat was working and I was happy.
Sometime these people can keep on talking on the phone like they really make sense but they do not.
Ohh I just could not handle.. And thats why they charge 50 bucks a month because you will be on the phone with them instead of using the actual data plan.
I feel sorry for them
