Default Is it true Unlocking 8320?

Please Login to Remove!

My contract is a month from going up at tmobile. I personally haven't have major issues with them and there pricing is pretty damn low especially now a days with money being tight for almost everyone.

Is it true you an Unlock your phone by simply calling them up and asking them for the unlock code for your phone? I read in this article that you can just call up after being into your contract for 3-4 months and they will give you your code plain and simple.

Article in Question:
How to unlock the BlackBerry Pearl and enter Blackberry Unlock Codes | AskStudent

Just looking for some input so i don't make myself look like an asshole when i call up tmobile.

Call up T-Mobile customer service, tell them you are going on a vacation to Mexico (anywhere in the world).. they will require your IMEI number and within 24-48 hrs they should send you the process and the unlock code.

Isn't it cool?

Their stated policy is you're eligible for an unlock code every 90 days.

SIM Unlock Requests:

T-Mobile customers must meet the following eligibility requirements before contacting Customer Service to request your SIM Unlock code.

The following restrictions apply to all account types:

* T-Mobile can provide SIM Unlock Codes only for handsets sold by T-Mobile USA, with the exception of Danger Sidekick devices. T-Mobile can obtain SIM Unlock Codes for companies acquired by t-Mobile USA (VoiceStream, Aerial, Omnipoint, SOL, Digiph, PCS One, and Powertel).
* SIM Unlock Codes will only be provided after your account has been active for 90 days. Only one unlock code may be provided per customer every 90 days.
* No SIM Unlock Codes will be provided within the 14-Day Buyer's Remorse period. Customers who purchase phones in CA California or via Amazon.com are granted a 30-Day Buyer's Remorse Period.
* SIM Unlock Codes are not always available from the Manufacturer. However, T-Mobile will make a dedicated effort to obtain the SIM Unlock code. Note: Other restrictions may apply depending on account type.

Are you suggesting that you game the carrier by "making up" an overseas vacation?
