Default Save attachments onto Micro SD?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

We have a BES and have just upgraded some people to Pearl 8110s. Someone has asked how they can save e-mail attachments to the memory card whilst accessing their exchange mailbox.
I looked and there doesn't seem to be any options for saving attachments, only the e-mail itself if anything...

Am I missing something?

Many thanks

I believe you are correct, I don't think you atm can save attachments.
Hopefully that will be better in OS 4.5 and Documents to go

Many thanks Sci-Tek. A bit of a nuisance that but hope it's something they'll sort out like you say...

It is currently possible with BeamBerry.

It is coming the much elusive OS 4.5, using Docs2Go.

Default RE: Save attachments onto Micro SD

Did OS 4.5 + DocsToGo turn out not to have the capability mentioned by JSanders above?

I have read in other threads that even OS 4.5 won't necessarily allow saving of BES email ".doc" attachments to SD Card. I've also read that a "BES upgrade" + OS 4.5 may make it possible, but I have not seen details, such as to what BES version the admin would need to upgrade or whether other actions (such as certain settings or permissions being set by the BES admin) would be required. Does anyone have any further information?

I operate through a corporate BES and have upgraded to OS 4.5 (BB 8100) and there is no option in Standard Docs to go to save email attachments. I upgraded to the trial version of Premium Docs to Go and same issue. I created a new little test .DOC file and tried to e-mail it and got an error that the "SERVICE does not support this type of file format". I am suspecting that my organization needs to upgrade the BES software (which is highly unlikley) or they need to turn on an option in the current BES software (which isn't going to happen either!!). So I will have to use Docs to go with some limitations.. SIGH!!
