Default 8300 Voice Dialing with Jawbone issues

Please Login to Remove!

I recently purchased a Jawbone for my 8300. The first couple of days I was able to hit the button on my Jawbone and Voice Dialing would work great. All of a sudden when I hit the button my 8300 says on the Voice Dialing screen, "Initializing; please wait... and it will stay on this screen forever if I let it. I have not changed any setting s on my phone to cause this effect. Please help!!!!!

When was the last time you removed the battery from your device while it was turned on to reset it?

Definately sounds like you should try a battery pull. Even with several hundred or thousand contacts, it shouldn't take a long time to read the contacts after the first scan. Try a battery pull, if that doesn't work go to options > status and post file free. Battery pull is the first trick when troubleshooting

I have one question for you. I've been using the Jawbone for a while, initially with my 8300 and now with my 8310, and when I push the send/end button TO END A CALL the call ends but the phone then thinks I want to make another call and the voice prompt comes up asking me who I'd like to call.

Does this happen to you too?

I know it's a side issue but I want to know if its my headset or just an overall incompatibility with BlackBerry's and the Jawbone.

To test this out, call someone and you hang up but pressing the button on the headset and tell me what happens.

srotman,

I had this happen to me as well, but I think it's a sequence of event that is important - I think caller disconnects first, you press button to end the call as well, but since you are not in the call any more - it activates voice dial.

At least this is how I understand this phenomena

It's definitely NOT the sequence of events, although I understand that would be a factor if that was the case.

I'm finding that ALL the time when I end the call, and it is definitely ME ending the call, that the call does in fact end, but I have a funny feeling that the headset sends the command either a little slower than most other devices or BB interprets it differently from others devices, and as such interprets the physical command of me pushing the button on my headset as TWO send/end commands on the phone.

Therefore the phone ends the call and then thinks you're trying to make another.

Its definitely a series of events. I have been an avid user of the Jawbone since it came out and when I hang up first it is fine, but if the other person hangs up first and I then push the headset to end call the voice dial prompts follow.

I'd like to agree with you that it's a "series of events" but how can you explain this problem happening if I'm hanging up on checking my voice mail?

Default Voice activation question using Jaw Bone 2.0 w/Curve

My husband and I both have 8300 and Jawbone. My husband has the older model and I have the 2.0 model. When he wants to call from his Jawbone, he pushes it and it goes immediately into voice dialing. This is not working on mine and I have to manually dial. We live in Seattle where it is now illegal to be on the phone unless you are hands free......Needless to say I could use some help please!

Thank you all in advance.

Lightbulb How to actibate Voice dialing on the Jawbone 2

I just found another thread that suggested holding the Noise Assassin button for 1 sec. to activate voice dialing rather than the talk button as stated in the instructions.
Guess what?

It works like a charm
