Default Migrate Mailbox

Please Login to Remove!

I have one BES 4.0 server and one Exchange 2003 server. I am building a new Exchange 2003 server and want to start migrating users mailboxes from the old server to the new server. I used my own mailbox as a test acoxxxx and the BES server did not recognize that my mailbox had moved. Is there any documentation out there on how to properly migrate?

I migrated from Exch 5.5 (NT4) to Exch2k3 last year. Two-way trust between NT and AD. BES was in the NT4 domain. Exch2k3 was joined to the 5.5 site. Mailbox moves were immediately recognized (well, a couple of times I ran handheldcleanup because I was impatient).

I have to assume that your new Exch2k3 server is in the same domain/org as the old...right?

If you use the Add function on BES, do mailboxes on the new server show in the "Address Book"? If not, then your Exch setup needs looking at.

Both Exchange servers and BES are in the same domain.

If I try adding a mailbox from the new Exch2k3 then it is recognized by BES. So the communication between BES and my new Exch2k3 seem to be ok. When I tried to migrate a current blackberry user I waited 8 hours to see if BES would pick up the change but it did not. Is there a tool I am missing?

The only way I have found to resolve this is to restart the BES after moving the mailbox. I'm sure there is a better way, I just haven't found it yet.
