Default Mobile Broadband howto?

Please Login to Remove!

A VZW rep offered me a free 1 month trial on tethering (Mobile broadband), but didn't tell me how to use it! Do I need VZAccess Manager, or can I just connect my BB like my friend on sprint?

Thanks!

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Please go to BBFAQ on the top of this page. Look for the article on tethering.

I only see how to Tether on Linux in the BBFAQ.com section. Can you possibly help me out on what it might be called?

Go to: VZAccess Manager and download access manager. Then once you have it downloaded run it and a wizard will guide you through the set up process.

Btw, just FYI. I usually listen to podcasts on BB while sitting working in my car and if you have mass storage mode enabled then when you connect to VZ Access it shuts down the media player. I have my BB set to "prompt" on whether I want to enable mass storage mode when I connect USB. I click no to mass storage mode when I'm tethering so I can listen to my podcasts while tethered. Also, when tethered you don't get any email, texts etc. The only thing that works is the phone. When you get an incoming call or place a call while tethered, it suspends the connection while on the call and then resumes the connection when you hang up. Once you disconnect then you'll receive any texts, emails that came in while tethered.
