Default question about themes

Please Login to Remove!

Hey guys...question.

here's the situation. i just got an 8310, and after my third return (because of other problems) this one is OK...i noticed, however, that the backlight is somewhat washed out, and has a yellow tint, which is real noticable when I'm looking at a white screen...

so what i'm looking for is a theme that has as little white as possible...
maybe a 9000 L theme? are there any themes that even the sms/email area doesn't have a white background?

...is there something I should do about the washed out backlight, or live with it?

It's very simple to make your own theme. Give it a try.

I agree, it is very easy to make your own. BUT A WARNING, it is very addictive, now that I started I can not stop and my wife wants to throw my computer out the window. Have fun and be creative it's a lot of fun.

Wirelessly posted (All the cool kids are doing it)

Although you won't be able to change the background color of the message list and the options list...no matter what theme you make or download

I thought you could change the background? In the inspector, under the options for the TX/RX, Color Bar, very bottom it says Applications. You can change the background color there.

Yes you can change the colors for the application, but you have to understand that it will not look perfect in all applications.
I had it changed on a few themes but it worked out fine for the most part.

I have to agree. I've tried setting application background to black in my own variation of the Bold theme but it didn't work out too well.

I've also had a problem where an application has a preset color scheme (eg. Google Maps) and if you change the default application background and foreground in your theme, those colors will clash. For example, I set my theme's default text to white instead of black and I couldn't see what I was typing in Google Maps

Yep just ran into that problem on my first theme. Also, there's a white line for the outside border, looks real unprofessional...side-bar, I decided to exchange my device to see if the backlight problem gets fixed...I still plan on working on my own themes either way though
