Default Comparison of Data speeds.

Please Login to Remove!

So Im comparing my newly acquired Verizon Storm to my old ATT bold. When testing data speeds, it seems that my ATT EDGE speed is more stable and faster than my Verizon 1XEV speed.

I didnt use any speed meters, just hitting buttons at roughly the same time.

Is this right? or is something terribly wrong.

use one of the modem speed testers online, might be a little more acurate then the old method of hoping to push the buttons at the same time.
-Just a suggestion-

But I guess depending on the signal strength and location of the towers could possibly interrrupt connection or speed as well.

Comparing speed on two or more different devices is not very useful IMHO. The true speed depends on many factors beyond your control, such as device processor, device memory, the connection itself, distance tot he tower, tower saturation etc. Also keep in mind that voice generally has priority over data, but with 3G networks becoming more widespread, I am nit sure that is still the case.

If you want to test two or more devices, you need to do then side by side and use the same process or test. With different carriers, I am nt so sure what you gain from the results, given the above conditions.

That's correct in comparison.
