Haven't tried it here. Can't say I'm in need of more memory either. My Bold is running much faster than my Curve and I've got plenty of space.

I have to say i'm suprised at how well it has worked for me. Before I would delete e-mail, logs etc usually once a day to keep between 12-15 mb free. But since installation of Memoryup 2.7, i have gotten to 0 in "file free" on the status screen and have noticed no lag in performance or missing mail items/logs! I'm still experimenting with how far i can go with downloading apps, currently i have:
Aerize Card loader
bbsmart alarms pro
docs to go
empower email viewer
face book app
freelight
gmail mobile app
google maps
google sync
google talk
gotimeit
iCall manager light
ideamatrix
todomatrix
Karpov Chess
MemoryUp (of course)
milksync (rtm)
opera mini
pocket 10b SE (calc)
Pocketday Lists
Pocket Informant (with icons)
reQall
bbsmart shortcuts
snapscreen
softreset
stockQuote
thestreet.com mobile
viigo
vlingo
voicerecorder + (VR+)
xTemplate
...along with the apps loaded on my SD card using Aerize Card loader
and currently my status screen is 4,223,823 bytes free.

With all that there really is no real sluggishness. We'll see, but whatever black magic Memoryup is using, it seems to be working!

Has anyone tried reQall yet? I downloaded it from reQall for BlackBerry a few days ago and it is working great.

What are you installing on your BB's? I have tons of crap installed and I have 850 MB free space. How big is your default system memory?

Anyone know if Aerize Optimizer and MemoryUp has been compared and/or do they provide comparable features?

You know, I have been thinking of this for this past week. I know of Maxmem and read about a few others, but have tried none of them yet.

Guess I thought I would post to see if we can compile a list of all of these memory optimization tools for our Bold. Don't forget such programs as quickpull which simulates pulling out the battery.

Guess I have been hesitant to try any because I don't want to mess anything up nor do I want to accidently delete or remove things that I want/need on my Bold.

So with all of this said, can we get some more of you to join in on this and post your thoughts on the various apps. such as this as this seems to be a pretty important thing to all of us BB users!?!?!

Thanks much for sharing!

I just took the plunge and bought/installed MemoryUp Pro after previously purchasing Aerize Optimizer, which basically seems to piggy-back native RIM 'Memory Cleaning' under Options | Security....

MemoryUp Pro seems to be an overall better complement to my Bold/9000.

It seems that RIM didnt put enough thought/planning into the application memory space and its a common routine to have to remove the batt for 1min to recovery application memory periodically.

I love my Bold but HATE the memory shortage. RIM designed a huge amount of memory to hold pictures and videos--- which we really don't need if we use a memory card. Meanwhile, I've installed a few apps and, after about 24 hours, I'm down to 10 megs of free memory for applications. Too bad I can't use the unused memory for pictures to hold my apps instead. Seems like an incredibly bad, stupid design for such an incredibly smart company.

I have no application memory left and I barely have any apps downloaded. Will this MemoryUp really help me? Or should I upgrade my OS (still on .167)?

upgrade is a good idea, but pulling the battery will free up memory
also delete browser cache, sent sms and email and the inbox of sms and email for those you dont need

I think you might be confusing application memory with onboard memory. Application memory is considerably less- only 128mb, much of which is occupied by the OS. onboard memory for pictures, music, etc. is 1gb. It would be great if apps could be put there, but they can't.
