I have an unlocked bold At&t branded, If I backed up my device files using Desktop Manager--> Backup. Then updated my software to .216 or anyone out there, then used Desktop Manager--> Restore. would I get all of my settings that I currently have my device set to back, Bluetooth, 3rd part App, GPS settings, Wifi settings, themes, phone book,........ ? if Not what would I lose?

Yes. All settings will return.

The OS upgrade should do a backup/restore as part of the process. I always recommend doing a backup prior, just in case any issues arise. It will restore all of your data and settings, yes.

I think you get everything back, but 3rd party apps are possibly not supported, as I know there are threads about how to back those up seperatly.

thanks guys, one more thing what are the downsides of updating from.167 to .216, as i read in the threads that .216 is so far the most stable? but are their any issues that i might experience moving from .167

I would recommend going to .247.

216 was stable, but from my experience from using 216 compared to 247, 247 has been far kinder to me, and therefore, i recommend going to 247.

however, i regret to say that i dont know what will happen from going to 167 to 216 or 247 because ive done each incrimintal update. Worse comes to worse, dont update, but do a hard wipe and install found here:

ignore the nuked blackberry part thing, its the same steps to do a hard install.
