Default Blackberry Storm - Wi-Fi?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi

I know the Blackberry storm does not have built in Wi-Fi but i have read somewhere that there is a new model coming out with built-in wi-fi.. is this true? If so any ideas when it will be released?

Also whats the difference between 9500 9520 and 9530?

Thanks

My friends iphone could not render a page that much faster on his wifi than i could on my 3g!

ive had pdas for years and the only one that had wifi was the 6700 audiovox..
each time i went to use wifi i couldnt evne do it due to wep..

When is faster NOT better. Plus, if you live or travel to remote areas you may not get 3G at all. For example, we go hiking and the cell coverage is spotty but the places we stay at have wifi.

I had wi-fi on my Curve and even paid for the T-Mobile @home add-on for a while. When connected to wi-fi, pages didn't load any faster than they did with EDGE, and eventually I just left it disabled.

If you want wi-fi for speed, in my opinion, it's not worth it. However, if you're often in areas with spotty coverage, then it would be a viable option. If you're thinking about getting a Storm, would you be switching to Verizon or staying with Sprint? Verizon may have better coverage where you go hiking. It's worth looking into. I just recently switch from T-Mobile to Verizon because T-Mobile has horrible coverage where I'm moving to.

What does each of them mean? Are they better then each other like a better made phone?

Im not bothered about wi-fi to be honest. I was just asking about it. The 3g service with Vodafone it very good round here. Whats EDGE by the way?

Thanks

Just to add to the above quote. The 9530 is not only CDMA but has GSM as well for areas CDMA does not work (outside N. America).

faster is NOT better when it is barely noticeable.
I live in a large metropolitan area and get great 3g coverage so wifi is not necessary..

but if you know you will be in areas where 3g coverage is spotty then dont get the storm..

its a great phone, that needs some software improvements but a solid device none the less..

keep in mind that alot of the connectivity you do is not soley based on your providor or your devices speed..
but on the recieving end of your request..so there are a lot of factors involved in wifi vs 3g, to get or not to get..
