Default storm apps

Please Login to Remove!

I know RIMM is supposed to launch an app center in march. I wonder if this means more app options for the storm?

Ive looked at soo many places and have found a few that are interseting, when I go to buy them, it tells me that they arent designed for the storm..

frustrating..

yes, it should mean more apps available, or at least just more applications will be apparent, as developers will have a centralized location to list their wares.

There are already many out there, and more coming. The software needed to develop Storm apps just became available several weeks ago.

JSanders,
where were you able to locate apps for the storm?

is there a good site for storm software?

getjar.com is a decent one you can search by compatability for your storm and the first couple of pages most of the apps work for your storm. It might take a little looking but you can find some. Also a google search works pretty well.

Ah the "joy" of being bleeding edge. New format means adjustments for developers. Hopefully we'll see more storm sales, more storm improvements which will drive app developers to make existing apps storm compatible

Curious, how will this app store work ? Do u have to be a verizon customer in order to search/buy apps for the storm ?
i assume this will be a RIM controlled system, but asking to be sure....

There's a sub-forum for 3rd party apps on crackberry that lists many apps.

And our Aftermarket Software section here, as well as the 9500 section, both have many.

Exclamation Caveat Emptor

I know this is a little late, but you should be very careful when buying 3rd party apps. I have a lot and it has been my experience that if you can't get a trial copy, you run a serious risk of not having the app work. Just because everyone is saying what a great app some piece of software is does not guarantee that it will work on your phone. In my personal experience, about 70% of apps that did not provide a trial did not work on my Storm (They may have worked on other people's units, but that does not do you or me any good). Caveat Emptor (LEt the buyer beware). 73

Default Apps for the storm

I tried the BB Storm found limited apps. Had difficulty getting them.

My friend has an iPhone he showed me thousands of apps for it.

I returned the Storm.

I now have an iPhone with 120 apps. Very easy to use and obtain apps for thru iTunes. There are thousands of apps to choose from any many added each day.

I went iPhone and not looking back.

@Steve West: Wow 120 ... how do you manage to use all of them? Doesn't it takes hours? Or do the most of them simply sitting no your phone?

Actually its more interesting to know how many Storms are in use. I think this is of much more significance for software producers than 'exciting' opportunities.

Folks, the iPhone has been out for quite a while. This is why there is a plethora of support and third party applications for it. It is also backed by a very large software corporation dedicated to seeing its only model of phone succeed.

The Storm has only been out for approximately three months. RIM supports numerous different phone models and is still resolving MANY software issues with the Storm.

Relax already. Soon a landslide of apps will appear. Take a chill pill. A year from now there will be so many apps this thread will be irrelevant.
