Finally decided to upgrade to this from .221. So far no complaints... I find that it's a little more responsive. Also I really like the how you can Switch Application by holding the Menu button. Which OS was this feature available on first? Or is this new for .247? I know .221 didn't have it.

I've had this randomly happen with every build since the original AT&T firmware. No rhyme or reason for it. Sometimes it happens within a few days and other times it takes a few weeks. This isn't an application specific issue as I've deleted each app until I was on the base system to no avail. The only way to get rid of it is to reload the firmware. Just did it again this morning.

I installed the 247 version, seems that battery drains too fast. I do not see video message icon. Any idea how to fix that?

Agreed, I have been running 247 since the beta stages and it's a killer on the battery, just hoping for a new release soon!

I'm no computer/tech expert, but I downloaded .247 one week ago with no issues. (I was so frustrated over dropped calls and random restarts that I figured this couldn't be any worse!) Download/installation was a breeze. (Thanks to everyone for the great instructions and tips in this thread.) Have only dropped one call in a week - which is a huge improvement over .167 (AT&T's current OS.) Has not effected battery life or memory. Have to recharge every day, but had to on the old OS as well. Current App Memory is 41.0MB. Device Memory is 847.7MB free of 859.2MB. Also have Media Card installed for ring tones/photos. Phone no longer overheats when charging, either. Also installed Opera Mini 4.2 for web browsing. Opera Mini is "lightning fast" - almost as fast as my laptop - and has solved any/all config issues for accessing secure sites. I've not been overly impressed with the Bold since I got it in 11/08, but with these upgrades/changes I'm loving it!

So I finally did get .247 to upgrade on my phone.. and its hosed all my Asian fonts both in MP3s and in webpages. I thought this was 'multilingual'?

Do I have to downgrade back to a carrier that explicitly supports Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc inputs?

Using Google I found only blogs talking about it rather than a link to the file itself. So smartass commentary is not necessary or appreciated, thank you.

My GPS has been extremely slow since I upgraded to this release a few days ago. The GPS was much faster with the release I was using before .247. I don't remember exactly which version it was (I don't have my laptop with me today), but I think it was something like .192.

Default Images do not download for HTML

Upgraded from Rogers 292 to this 418, and currently the issue i'm having is that images cannot be downloaded for HTMl emails. HTML emails display, but instead of images I get image placeholders.

Clicking menu, then Download Images doesn't do anything. Went to email options, and made sure that Images are set to Yes.

Anybody else have this problem? Any solutions? Thanks!

edit: fixed. Pulled the battery and now all's fixed!

Mine seems okay. I've been pretty good with keeping up to date on the upgrades but the only problem I've come across so far with .247 is JiveTalk when I've set a buddy pounce. After I get alerted of it, my device's screen will freeze on a white screen. The device itself hasn't frozen because it will show the Fn/Caps symbol at the top right hand corner when pressed. It just won't let me go to anything and nothing shows up. Anyone else have this issue? Battery and GPS seems fine. I rarely ever use my camera or voice recorder so I have no comments about those.

I have tried out a bunch of the OS and I have reverted back to .216 which, for me, seems to be the best for battery life and overall performance. Has anyone switched from .216 to this newest version and can advise if it is better than .216?
