multiple sync issues with large contact list

I need help with a problem that Im having at my office. My boss and I both rely heavily on the same set of contacts (approximately 3,000). To avoid having to enter information in multiple places, Im trying to find a method of syncing his blackberry with an online source so that we can share information.
For example; I want to enter a new clients name onto google or yahoo (OR hopefully another option that Im not yet aware of) and get that contacts information into his blackberry contacts. The great advantage of a web-based program is obvious that he can pull it up on his computer, I can pull it up on mine, and of course anywhere with internet access we can get it. But, its also necessary we get it into the blackberry address book.
Problem with google sync is we wind up with duplicates thousands of them.
We use to sync the blackberry with outlook on his desktop and then had the yahoo sync feature set up so that yahoo and his desktop/outlook would sync. Then we could pull up the yahoo address book anywhere. BUT, if he entered a contact on his phone, it would end up on yahoo, but disappear from outlook and the blackberry. Even after re-syncing, the information would not be transferred to the blackberry, which is odd because a newly entered contact on yahoo would always wind up on the outlook/blackberry and stay in both places.
Accessing the contacts through on the blackberry through google/yahoo mobile is not an option. Sometimes the access is to slow in time sensitive matters and if youre on the phone, you cant access the contacts. They have to be in the blackberry address book.
I think part of the problem is that we have SO many contacts and most people probably just have a couple hundred.
Any sync options besides google or yahoo that Im not aware of? Does outlook have a web based version Im not aware of? Thanks!
