Ok so I am running. 419 hybrid with .553 files, and after restoring my phone, i noticed the lock button doesn't PASSWORD lock the phone anymore.
I used to be able to when I press the top button (lock button on the top) to password lock my phone, but now it will only lock the screen and unlock it without a password.
I tried downgrading the OS back, but that didn't do a difference. I tried under options>password and options>screen/keyboard and coulnd't find anything.
Anybody have any pointers or any suggestions at all?
P.S. the phone does lock itself when it boots up, and when i actually hit "Password Lock" in the menu apps. and i don't wanna assign a side button for it.
The newer version of the firmware has modified the button function as per RIM at the moment so it only locks the screen from being pressed but not password locked. You have to use the onscreen lock to password lock it. Until RIM decides to put the functionality back to the original, its going to remain this way.
oh i see....you wouldn't happen to know which version was the last one to have the function. i know it was .419 but i been running hybrids and im currently on .553 and don't remember which one still had it.
