Lightbulb Latest 8120 OS: TIM Italy - v4.3.0.172 / 4.3.0.99 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

the credit for this nice find goes to Decoliva!

Package Version: 4.3.0.172
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.3.0.99
Software Platform: 2.6.0.56
File name: 8120M_PBr4.3.0_rel172_PL2.6.0.56_A4.3.0.99_TIMItal y.exe
File size: 109.83MB

Download here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...190CAAD5802983

Instructions for installing:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. Currently, the latest version available is 4.3 and may be downloaded here: http://www.blackberry.com/go/softwaredownloads

2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.

3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It is located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Apploader

4. Plug in the BlackBerry and open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization." Don't unplug from the PC & Don't remove the battery unless the spinning hourglass has been there for 30 minutes or more. If the hourglass has been spinning for more than 30 minutes continuously you will need to wipe the device with JL_Cmder (close out of Desktop Manager during this process.) You will then end up with a white screen with small icons and an error code number like 507 or 543.

much, much better now. (the stickies) Thank you guys.

Do you remember that "password" issue I had on my 8120? I just realized the other day that it's an os bug as I have set it up again and it didn't let me change it. Then I have followed the wiping off procedure again then once back online have setup the pass again on a fresh os. Same issue, once input the pass it wonxxx8217;t let you change it. I just hope that this new release can sort that bug out. Have just installed it (the new os) 5 min ago...it has come up with a pop-up saying:
connecting to the device JVM. now it's stuck....is it meant to be this way????

Carrier doesn't matter...just device model number. All the latest device OS's are posted as stickys at the top of the respective forums:

Thanks a lot! This update did it for me. Now I can finally actually use WiFi and I can write SMS with 160 rather than 70 characters when I use German as an input language.

Default 8120 from TIM would not work on my Orange 8120

I've routinely downloaded the OS for my BB devices, and it always worked great (8800, 8100, 8820).

I downloaded the one from TIM (mainly to be able to modify the file blackberry.alx), but Desktop Manager does not see the installed application.

Any idea why this is the case? I downloaded the file from BB for TIM and installed it.

Thanks
