Bummer! I'd rather by a 2 GB right away then waste money on a 1 GB then 2 GB. I have some HD avi's of tv shows that I could carry with me plus songs I'd like to have incase I don't have my Creative Vision M and it'd be nice to have a 2 GB card.

I think the max is 1GB. That's what I was told by a T-Mobile rep.

Angry Sad but true

2GB Micro SD does not work in Pearl. System won't even boot as it flashes and chokes and never comes to life. Bizarre. Back to my 512 for now.

2gb will work if you have updated your Pearl's OS. TMo site has .64 for download or you can get Cingular .71 if you want the latest.

I believe someday, someone (Dynoplex?) will offer an app that lets us use/save MS Office docs on the microSD cards. So, 2 GB cards will be best!

Exactly. I have a 2GB card with .95 GB free right now. It works on Cingular. Now I just need to go buy a BT stereo headset.

Default Micro SD Card Size

I just put a 2 gig card on order. Maybe this was solved with a software upgrade? Has anyone used a 2 GIG card in an 8100 yet? BG?[/QUOTE]

Hi, I was told over and over to limit it to a 1 gig, as the phone is not fast enough to scan all that is on a 2 gig card if it was full. I was told it really slows down the 8100.

SanDisk 2gb MicroSD card into 8100 running OS 4.2.0.6.7 worked first time. Reports 1.91 free after formatting in the 8100.

The newer OS cover more than just 2 gb support. You should upgrade to get better memory leakage protection and battery life. The latest Cingular OS is alot better than the ones that the Pearl comes with (unless yours came with the latest one). Just upgrade and you will see the diffrence.

Yup. All of the software upgrades for the BlackBerry Pearl should allow 2GB MicroSD card usage. yay.
