Default really starting to hate this phone

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, all. Have another problem with my phone that just started recently.

I am using the bolt browser on my BlackBerry. The native browser doesn't work right for a few sites I visit regularly. Anyway, every few days, I when using this browser, I get an error message that says:

Uncaught exception: java.lang.outofmemory

My BlackBerry gets stuck on thinking so often that I have to pull the battery out of it at least twice a day.

So what does the uncaught exception error mean and what can I do about it?

I have 13782787 Bytes free space on my phone. Is that good or bad?

Wirelessly posted

Is that 13MB right after a battery pull, or is that after you have been using the device a while?

My first suspicion is you are bordeline on free memory and depending out what you have running at the time, etc. you may or or not have a problem, but then you open a relatively large web page, or you've left some app running in the background, and available memory drops below the threshold.

See John Clarke's sticky post on freeing up memory. You don't have to do everything, but the articles gives you enough information to pick and choose what you do.

That is the amount of free space I had when I posted the thread, and at that time, it had been several hours after the last battery pull. The amount stays the same, cause I've checked it right after a battery pull and it was the same number.

The amount doesn't stay the same. BlackBerry devices are notorious for memory leaks.

I would say this is definitely memory related. If you're experiencing hour glassing and the Uncaught exception: java.lang.outofmemory error.

Follow Ira's advice above.
