WES 2008 will be in Orlando from May 13-15 in 2008. As for the where, I would imagine the Marriott World Center, but I'm sure that's subject to change being a year off and given the popularity of this year's event (and increased headcount). Early registration was available at the conference, but I doubt many people decided to go that route.

It was my first time at WES but after the first day of being a little timid to speak to people it turned into BLAST!!! Monday was cool getting my feet wet and checking out the Solution Showcase with all the vendors. Tuesday was when the fun started coming full force...especially at the Hard Rock. After getting a few in my system I started chatting with some other BB addicts and next thing I knew we were bouncing around club to club in Universal Studios. But instead of buying drinks at the clubs we would just walk back to Hard Rock and grab some of the very limited selections of free liquor but it was free. Wednesday at the AT&T party I just knew that black bag had new BB in it!!! That party was not my speed but the Verizon one back at the hotel was the @%*! Well, I'm not trying to write a book here but I had so much fun with parties but even more with all the knowledge I gained and shared. One quick thing...Did anybody else go to that BULL crap upgrade to 4.1 session for $350? They had no computers just a slide show!!!! We got our money back. I hope I get to go next year.

RIM has said it for now that it will be at the World Center again for 2008.

Yes those are both good ideas

I think I would not allow myself to enter the Drinking Championships as it would not be fair to the others

I was signed up for that 'class', too. What a joke. $350 for a 4 hour PowerPoint presentation. No thanks. I got my money back, too.

iPod Nano x2
Extreme Backpack monogramed with Blackberry logo x2
Oddessy putter
Hand stitched golf bag
$1000 in cash

And all that was just the group of us at one table!
We predict that there will be a bunch of "bandwagon" posters joining the core group next years WES.

Off to next session! More to come later!

PS: Bond Girls Rule

Dunno if you counted but I won a Nano as well.

Default Finally leaving my new home

Oh sorry was I meant to post? I was a bit busy doing more parks and hitting the driviing range and pool, hahahahaha. It's very weird having families round here now, not a single CrackBerry in sight.

The nice thing is that all the fun stuff has been mentioned, so I don't have to bother. $168 later and my shiny new BB Golf Bag is suposedly on it's way to the UK. Thanks for the offer anyway Matt! I would worry that you might fill it with "SHOTS!!!!" and drink it all I was a very good boy this year and probably drank less than any other conf but if jibi is setting up some sessions next year, I wanna get the early bird discount.

It really was a top week and while the sessions wehere nowhere near as techie as I needed/hoped, I got a serious amount just from talking to the few ppl who know more than me :->

Well, off to Chicago now to learn more stuff which I won't get paid extra to do. l8r dudes.

Now, I don't remember what your boy's name was, but let's just say this: If you mention to the BoxTone guys and mention "Last guy showing up in a porno flick," I'm sure he'll remember.

What happens at WES, stays at WES

It was a good time at the bar in the lobby on Wednesday night! Yes, if you were there, you know exactly what was up.

Well I have made it back to work and thought I would add my two cents. This was the better of the WES's that I have attended since Chicago. For all the folks who didn't like where it was.....well it will be in Orlando for the next 3 events. I am sure everyone noticed the construction goign on around us. The T-Mobile parites at City Jazz and at Universal Studios was fantastic. Nice to go through a park and not waiting in line for hours. In addition the T-Mobile luncheon with Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis was a nice. Everyone got to meet and spend some time with both.
The vendors were great even though some said they would get back to you during the WES for more indebt info (.....cough cough Boxtone) but failed to do so. The labs were good but the last minute of having the training classes added seemed unorganized. I am surprised RIM didn,t promote the new certification programs that are being made available.

Well my liver is finally returning to a pre-WES level although I am wrapped up in bed after picking something up so my return to work has been delayed. I just wanted to say thank you for the invite to the "Forums Mini Meets", its just a shame that I had so many prior engagements so only briefly meet you all, by the look of things you all had a blast.
