BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.414 from carrier Taiwan Mobile
East Asian languages (Contains English)
This OS will load to ANY carrier's 9000 model by following the instructions below.

Package Version: 4.6.0.414
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.0.244
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.203
* File name: 9000jEastAsia_PBr4.6.0_rel414_PL4.0.0.203_A4.6.0.2 44_Taiwan_Mobile.ex e
* File size: 112MB

Download here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E1E828EBEBEB11

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Previous OS version here:

Thanks Bolin.

These things are getting cranked out so fast. 224 was horrible for me (battery life, memory usage). Gonna have to look up reviews on this beta.

When you "backup" before an OS update does EVERYTHING get put back to the same state as before the upgrade?

I mean, notes, contacts messages(sms and email) etc etc?

The OS upgrade's loader backup itself will restore all apps, notes, contacts, messages, preferences, etc.

As a safety, you might do your own backup first.

For third party apps, back them up using this method:

Thanks JS. As a long time Windows Moble user I'd be hot installing new updates, ROMs or hacks etc. but with the Bold Ive been so happy I'm not so desperate. At the risk of sounding like a "Mac fanboy" the Bold "just works".

Thanks for the latest OS update. I'm waiting to hear some of the feedback before I attempt this one. I run .167 and no issues. Not sure if this OS will have any improvements. I'm still looking for an update that improves the quality of the (video) camera.

Default It's all good here

I upgraded from .216 using DM when the beta came out and withoud a wipe
here is my input
-faster botting time
-similar battery life
-all apps work
-2.5 megs of memory
-faster browser, specially on wifi
-can't tether but I couldn't on .216 either
-GPS lock is the same
-no randon reboots, honestly I never had any since .185
-3g reception in al 5 bars but I never had any issues ecept for back in Nov and it was not an OS thing, ATT was playing with their towers

I couple of people indicated the get rem files for all new files but that is not the case for me

Very good so far...very fast thumbnails in pictures! A little faster overall than .221 I think. I would highly recommend this OS.

Has anyone compared this with the .234 or .237 betas? I recall hearing of some GPS issues with .244 on one of the beta threads, but can't recall exactly what they were. Surely Vodafone would have caught any major problems...or would they?

This release still has the .rem bug when taking pictures but at least now you can delete them.

I assume that visual voicemail is blocking the VM indicator once run if the carrier isn't supporting it.
