Default What is this icon?

Please Login to Remove!

I know there are loads of posts about trying to identify icons and I've read as many as I can. I've also checked the Blackberry site for the "official" list of icons.

I still can't find the one I've got on my screen and I can't see how to get rid of it.

Please see attachment for a picture of the icon.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Revodna

Odd....The symbol is normally what would indicate your WiFi is turned on. I don't know what the "1" is for though. Could it be the number of the connection? Do you have multiple networks stored?

Try turning off WiFi and see if the icon goes away.

Thanks.

I do have multiple networks stored but WiFi is already turned off.

I used WiFi at an airport last weekend but switched the WiFi off when I got on the plane and haven't switched it back on again.

That's a notification about WiFi. It is probably telling you that WiFi is off. You should be able to clear it from the notification panel.

There was nothing in the notification panel but your post gave me an idea.

I switched WiFi on and scanned for nearby networks. I briefly connected to an open network and quickly disconnected again and the icon has gone.

Thanks.

Its an indicator to let you know that one of the wifi hotspots you were at onetime connected to required some input to connect to the internet through the hotspot, usually accepting terms or logging in to turn the connection on. I travel a lot (truckdriver) so I see this on aan almost daily basis.

You usually see this when at a hospital, hotel or other location that offers wi-fi for a fee or that requires only registered people use it. If you click on the status bar where the notification is you will be taken to the Wi-Fi Login Splash Page.
