Default Slow delivery

Please Login to Remove!

BBM is acting weird and taking forever to send messages to people overseas for some reason after the last update.. I rebooted and everything but still takes forever.

Is there anything else I can try?

Waiting over an hour for a message to be delivered feels like forever in this case.

Exclamation Re: Slow delivery

The Boy Genius Report, back on November 9th (10 days ago,) reported that RIM was aware of the problem and was investigating it. 10 days later, it's STILL going on. For WEEKS now, the typical time for a message to be confirmed as delivered has been 5-6 minutes, for both myself & my fiancée. And it shows no signs of improving.

So nice to know that RIM has assigned a crack team of their best experts to the task of correcting this ASAP. *rolling eyes sarcastically*

Angry Re: Slow delivery

So, it's now December 3rd.... my fiancée and I have both downloaded and installed the newest version of BlackBerry Messenger, and guess what? The problem with delayed transmission STILL hasn't been fixed!

I'd really like to know what's in that Kool-Aid that the RIM management types have been drinking lately, because they don't seem to have a clue how to run their business any more.

P.S. Average time we've been experiencing from the time the message was Sent to the time the message is Delivered/Received is 7 minutes... completely unacceptable in this day and age... hardly qualifies as "Instant" Messaging, does it? Also would seem that this delay affects PIN Messaging, as well.

Are you defining received as responded to?

Of course not. We're both defining it as what time the time stamp on the message says it was received by our BlackBerry. For example...
Quote:
Me Thursday, 12/1/11 9:41 PM
"Testing... 9:41 PM..."
-----------------------------------------------------
Her Thursday, 9:48 PM
"Didn't get it till 947p"
It's also intermittent... one message will go through instantly, or nearly so, like it should. Then, for no good reason, all messages will be delayed by 6, 7, 8 minutes... then a message will go through like it should.... then more delays.

At this point, I'm thinking the real issue is that RIM's best tech support people left for greener pastures.
