Angry 2.0GB Micro Sandisk.

Please Login to Remove!

Yesterday while eagerly awaiting the arrival of my media card I read all the realated threads about my new card.
I enabled all the media functions and saved prior to locking it into the slot.
When I put the battery back into the phone, the LED light the screen and keypad blinks.
I have made sure all connections were good, I've even tried plugging it into the computer.
I have tried so many variables with no good outcome. Please help.

Also, I am trying to download the new OS, it finishes prematurely, and when I click "RUN" its says "Error initizing set up" any thoughts? I've tried about 10 times already!

Please help, I am leaving town for a few days, and would like to add media, as well as maps.

Do you have an adaptor to get the media to work on your desktop/laptop? Have you verified it's clean and works on those first? You say you tried plugging into the computer but I'm unsure if you mean the phone w/ card inside or just the card. I would try just the card to make sure it works in the first place. -Pk

Default On and Off

I'm going to take the card to work to see if someone can test it there.
When I plug it into the computer the USB sound chimes, on and off, and the phone is turning on and off.

I backed up the phone, and wiped it. That didn't work either.

Thanks again for everyones help.

Default Formating Media Card

How would I go about formating the disk? I don't have a reader on my computer at home.
I'm actually at work, and tech doesn't have one either.

Default Previous Post

I studied that link all day long in anticipation of receiving the card.
As I had stated in my previous post the phone will not power up when the card is in the slide well hinged and locked.
It blinks on and off (ie keypad, LED and screen).

In case you need one, here's a 2 GB Sandisk MicroSD card on Amazon for less than $20:

Amazon.com: Sandisk Micro SD 2 GB: Electronics

I got mine for $16 something shipped from buy.com a few months ago, but that's still a great price!!!

Smile Fixed!

I wanted to share the outcome of my experience, I see that some people ask questions and leave the post to disappear in the history.

I downloaded the newer system updates which evidently had the patches for the 2GB card.

Now it works fine... I was scared though!

The older version of the BB Pearls didn't support 2GBs... the newer versions do, I thought in the first post you said you had already tried to upgrade the OS.

The way I read his OP was that he tried the chip first and AFTER that was trying to upgrade the OS, after perhaps realizing [from a search] that he had to upgrade the OS to get the 2GB to work.

If he did a search and figured out the solution to his problem, hats off to him for doing so. It annoys me when members don't search the forum for a solution.
