Default 9100 cannot detect SIM

Please Login to Remove!

I have a new BB 9100..I successfully able to unlock the phone.
The problem is it cannot detect my SIM..there is a little message on the upper right hand near the signal strength bar in red letters says "SOS".

I tried changing the network mode settings but to no avail.

If anybody have any solution please share...

Thank you for your help.

May i ask the following questions?
Have you tried an other sim card from t-mobile or AT&T or other?
Does it Support the Frequencies of Your Provider, AT&T 850/1900 3G, T-mobile AWS 1700 3G
Do you have a blackberry plan on your phone????

Thank you for your reply magesnz.

I already got it running, what I did was I stack a little peace of paper behind the SIM Card and it did the trick.

Now my problem is I cannot upgrade the OS to the latest version..the message that I get is " Cannot update software because you don't have a valid subscription". I do have a valid plan from Tmobile.

Can you please share any solution about this problem?

thank you for your help

You have to do it with your computer, because t-mobile dosen't sell the phone first of all, second of all did you go to the blackberry page of your provider and transfer the service plan to the new phone???? and don't forget to remove the vendor.xml file from c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader before installing the os onto your phone....
hope everything goes well....

Hi Magesnz!

I have a question with regards to upgrading my phone O.S.

1. do I really need to transfer a blackberry service plan to my phone? because I don't have any, but I have a regular 2 year contract..I just use the phone straight out from the box. My phone by the way is branded (unlocked VODAFONE)

2. What is the most stable OS version that I can use? I am planning to install A6.0.0.481 or A5.0.0.972 or 6.0.0.448 (from Tmobile) for 9700 Bold if its possible.

Currently Installed : 5.0.0.748 (bundle 1269) platform 6.2.0.69

thanks again for your help.
